Enviropig is no more . . . for now

The University of Guelph killed its herd of so-called Enviropigs last month. The experimental pigs are gone but the technology, including the genetic material required to repeat the experiment, still exists.

Groups tried unsuccessfully to save the pigs. The university could not release them without breaching government regulations.

Ten generations and 13 years later, it's nice to see that consumers haven't been duped into thinking that this was anything but a solution looking for a problem.

See my post of April 5, 2012 on the Enviropig.
